Evie’s paranormal past keeps coming back to haunt her. A new director at the International Paranormal Containment Agency wants to drag her back to headquarters. The Dark Faerie Queen is torturing humans in her poisonous realm. And supernatural creatures keep insisting that Evie is the only one who can save them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its fate rests solely in Evie’s hands.

So much for normal.

I really love this series.  I love how different it is, how full of paranormal creatures it is, and how the characters all really have super strong and memorable personalities.  I love that this has strong characterization AND a strong plot and doesn’t really lack in either.   And I love that it makes me laugh so much while still has a serious theme going as well.

Evie is a fabulous character that never fails to make me giggle. She says funny things and has hilarious inner dialogue.  I love that she’s pretty determined to live her life now and won’t let anyone run it for her.  Evie is definitely awesome.  BUT, I do think that sometimes she’s a little bit overboard.  She overreacts at times and sometimes acts stubborn about things that are just kind of stupid.  But I still love her, so the positive is definitely more than the negative.

The romance is good, but not quite great.  I can’t put my finger on why exactly.  There’s nothing I don’t like.  But I don’t feel super warm fuzzy’s either.  Out of all the characters Lends is the most mild and I think maybe I want a tad more from him.  However, I LOVE his paranormal aspect, what he is.  That is cool.

I love that you never know if the side characters are going to be good or bad in these books.  You’re all sure they are bad in one book and you hate them, but then they show up and ummm…. well, maybe they aren’t so bad.  They also have such large personalities that you can’t possibly forget them.  Even though it’s been over a year since I read Supernaturally it pretty much all came back the second the characters started talking.  I loved that.

This was the largest book for the series so far but it was still a super fast read and had constant action.  I had no problem cruising through it as there wasn’t any down time at all.

This is a series I most definitely recommend you check out.  It’s one with a memorable plot and amazing characters.

  1. I read the first book in this series last fall and really enjoyed it! I very much would like ro continue this series soon. I am glad to see that it is still, good. I thought it was just going to be a three book series, but I guess not! I know the weather is crazy. Humid last week and it was chilly last night! What happened to summer?

  2. I have yet to read Supernaturally but I have Endlessly in my TBR stack, so I’m excited to get caught up! I loved Evie in book one, and while the romance wasn’t epic like you mentioned, Lend is a very interesting character. Can’t wait to find out who you’re talking about hating who then turns out to be not so bad:) Thanks for the review Candace!

  3. Like Heidi and Jenny above, I really enjoyed Paranormalcy, the first book, and I have to get caught up with book 2 and now 3. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed this one. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Evie and Lend!

  4. I have the first book but haven’t read any of these yet. I really need too though. It sounds like such a fun series. I appreciate the non-spoilery review, and I’m glad you loved this one as much as the others.

  5. I have the first 2 books on my shelf but I didn’t read it yet (it is up the list though!). I’m glad you liked the series, I’m looking forward to reading it now!

  6. Nice review Candace!! Cannot wait to read this one! Have sooo many books and series to read! Quite a few are in the ending phase and I am behind!

Luckily not on this series! Already preordered my copy! Can’t wait!

    Once again, great review!

  7. I ADORE this series and sad it comes to an end. The humor here is so unique… I think I know what you mean about the romance, there was always the little extra spark missing – but still, the books never failed to make me happy!!! Can’t wait!

  8. The Paranormalcy series has been a pretty good read so far. It’s not my favorite, but I’ll probably end up reading Endlessly. Really loved it when you said, “This was the largest book for the series so far but it was still a super fast read and had constant action. I had no problem cruising through it as there wasn’t any down time at all.” Despite its flaws, this sounds like an addicting book. Great review:)

  9. I’m glad you liked this one! I haven’t read Supernaturally yet (I’ve been waiting for this book) so I’m looking forward to being surprised! I’m glad that Evie is still funny considering whatever she has to go through in this book. I personally liked that their romance wasn’t epic…it seemed normal enough for me and it really stood out amongst all these epic romances!

  10. I haven’t read Supernaturally yet, but I love this series! You’re so right about the Supernatural characters, they are incredibly imaginative. Lend is very unique. I just got my copy of Endlessly today so I’ll dig into the two back to back.

  11. Great review!! I am a few chapters away from finishing it and I am really enjoying it. I totally agree with you about the characters and not knowing whether they are good or bad. I love that!!

  12. I loved Paranormalcy but still haven’t read Supernaturally because I saw some complaints about the whole middle book syndrome thing. But I’m glad to see that the concluding book is good and I do have an ARC of it to read. I just need to get myself a copy of Supernaturally first. I’m kinda excited about it now. :)
