Hey guys! It's now the end of day one and I figured I would do my update now rather than tomorrow morning like I had planned. I'm going to do a challenge on this post as well.
Update:
I finished Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready (278-416)
And I started & finished Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen (292 pages)
Challenge reminder, here are the challenges for the three days of the read-a-thon:
Yes. Well, I try not to judge a book by a cover, but if it has a great cover I'll want it regardless of whether it's any good and will read it anyway. Sometimes a good cover will determine whether it's a book I need on my shelf or will just borrow.

Monday:
Today I'm doing Bailey's challenge at IB Book Blogging.
Question 1:
What is your favorite cover that has been revealed this summer and why?
This is SO hard! There are so many gorgeous covers that have been recently released, so it's a hard decision. But one of my most favorites is Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. I honestly don't remember exactly when it was revealed, but it wasn't too long ago.
Question 2:
Do you rely on the cover to help you choose whether you want to read a book or not?

Oh I love the cover that you picked! I really must get around to reading the first book in that series. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed both books that you managed to read today. I feel so behind because between the doctors, driving Johnny to work and then going to work myself I haven't read anything today. :(
LOVE that cover! I need to read book 1 as well ;P
ReplyDeleteYAY for getting reading done!! :D Getting ready to start book 3 once I take a break for a TV show...hehe.
Ooo! Great cover choice. I can't believe that one slipped my mind. I LOVED Daughter of Smoke and Bone and the cover for the sequel is utterly gorgeous, I can't wait to have it on my shelf.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your first two books for the read-a-thon! :]
Oh yes, Blood and Starlight was a gorgeous one as well!
ReplyDeleteI want to kiss that cover too! It's going to look so gorgeous next to my copy of Daughter of Smoke and Bone! <3 LOL and even though I try not to judge a book by its cover either, but I do the same thing as you: Give it a shot if the covers gorgeous regardless of any apprehensions! x) And I have to admit that a lot of books on my TBR shelf were added first for the cover and second for the synopsis haha :')
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I really hope you liked Shine, Candace! Have an amazing reading week <3
I love that cover...it just sucks me in and I can't stop looking into her eyes...(ok that came out a little weird...but you know what I mean! lol)
