Book Give@way! The Taken by Vicki Pettersson

Today I have an awesome giveaway for you all!  The awesome people at Harper are offering up one copy of  The Taken (Celestial Blues #1) by Vicki Pettersson to one lucky person!

He’s a fallen angel. She’s a rockabilly reporter. Together they must solve a deadly string of murders plaguing the mortal and the immortal worlds.

Griffin Shaw used to be a PI, but that was over fifty years ago when gumshoes hoofed the streets . . . and he was still alive. Now he’s a Centurion, an angel who assists other murdered souls through their journey to the afterlife. But while Shaw might be an angel … he’s no saint. Haunted by the mysterious events surrounding his own death, he seizes a chance to wreak some vengeance when he witnesses a deadly attack on journalist Katherine “Kit” Craig.

Joining forces, the unlikely avengers take to the streets, hunting a killer whose trail of bodies stretches across Las Vegas and into an immortal netherworld. It is a dangerous trek that lead them into the darkest corners of Sin City and into the heart of an evil conspiracy extending beyond the lights of the Strip that could destory them both.

But destruction isn’t the only threat Griffin faces. The closer he gets to Kit, the more he finds himself bewitched by her mortal charms. Can he resist falling under her spell? And does he want to?

I found this to be a very unique story with an awesome rockabilly aspect that I’ve never seen before.  I think it’s a good start to what’s going to be a great series!  Good luck!

  1. This is one of those books I consider moving to US for, just to be able to win. x) LOL. At least it’s not too long left until it realeases!

I loved her other series, so I’m extremely excited about this one! Can’t wait. 😀

  2. This is a great story! I loved the Rockabilly lifestyle (would be so cool to hang with those people–though it’s too much work daily for someone who lives in yoga pants and tees on her days off).

  3. Ooooo this sounds so good Candace! I haven’t read any books by her but she’s an author I’ve been wanting to try. This seems like the perfect opportunity to do so! A huge thank you to you and Harper for the giveaway!

  4. You and Melissa at Books and Things have the same book up today! I loved Rockabilly when it was in style lo those many years ago. Didn’t last long. Not my type of book, but it does sound fun.

  5. Thanks for the chance to win Candace! Under the Freebie…um tab? I guess that’s what I call it there was no box provided to add your name. Just to let ya know.
