THE CONCLUSION TO ONE OF THE MOST TALKED-ABOUT NOVELS OF LAST YEAR

It’s been thirty-five weeks since twin sisters Harmony and Melody went their separate ways. And now their story has become irresistible: twins separated at birth, each due to deliver twins…on the same day!

Married to Ram and living in Goodside, Harmony spends her time trying to fit back into the community she once believed in. But she can’t forget about Jondoe, the guy she fell for under the strangest of circumstances.

To her adoring fans, Melody has achieved everything: a major contract and a coupling with the hottest bump prospect around. But this image is costing her the one guy she really wants.

The girls’ every move is analyzed by millions of fans eagerly counting down to “Double Double Due Date.” They’re two of the most powerful teen girls on the planet, and they could do only one thing to make them even more famous:

Tell the truth.

Hilarious and sarcastic THUMPED was a fantastic follow up to BUMPED. In BUMPED I had to overcome the strange slang and the extreme world presented. In THUMPED I was prepared and I think enjoyed it more for that reason. While these books are certainly not for everyone, I personally enjoy them quite a lot.
The issues and complications are unique but make you think.  While I may roll my eyes and get the giggles I’m also thinking how easy our world could become this.  How ridiculous us human beings can be and how we can so easily forget our own humanity.

In the end, all that’s left is an echo…
Violet kept her morbid ability to sense dead bodies a secret from everyone except her family and her childhood-best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Jay Heaton. That is until forensic psychologist Sara Priest discovered Violet’s talent and invited her to use her gift to track down murderers. Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it’s Violet’s job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice. When Violet discovers the body of a college girl killed by “the girlfriend collector” she is determined to solve the case. But now the serial killer is on the lookout for a new “relationship” and Violet may have caught his eye….

Kimberly Derting really stepped it up a notch for this one! I loved the others but this one was even better! The creep factor was up and I loved the direction this one took.
The characters are absolutely fantastic!  I think I’m liking Violet more and more.  Sometimes she makes some rash decisions but I think she’s getting smarter now.  I also loved that there was some complications with the relationship with Violet and Jay but yet it didn’t become a cliche or something we’ve all seen before.  I think it worked well.
I’m really loving the turn that the books are taking and I love that the killers chapters were more frequent (at least they felt more frequent) and that we were able to get in his head quite a lot more.  It made this book unputdownable, for sure!  And I also enjoyed that this book had a few more branches, it wasn’t just one story line, it had other things going on as well which upped the danger factor by several notches.
This one ended perfect because we get a bit of a shock, but it’s not quite a cliffhanger.  I’m anxious for more, but not DYING.  I thought it worked out just right.
This is a series I mostly definitely recommend!

  1. Bumped really surprised me, in a good way. After I overcame the hurdle of initial shock on how blunt things are said and discussed in the book. Really looking forward to Thumped!

I also can’t wait for “The Last Echo”! Although I really liked “Desires of the Dead” the mystery aspect was a bit meh. Glad to know that the creep factor is up again. :)

  2. Oh, I love it when series books get stronger with each installment. I’ve got to get on those Body Finder books soon!

I haven’t read the Bumped books either, but yeah, they do sound like they’d have a lot to say about the future of humanity.

  3. Oh this sunds awsome on both books!!! I loved bumped insanely, ilovedthe message and the humor!!! I remember laughing so hard so many times!

I’m excited to hear The Last Echo is sooo good, can’t wait to read it!!

  4. I just finished Thumped and enjoyed it as well! Like you, I felt more prepared for the world so some of the strangeness didn’t throw me off quite as much and I was able to settle into the story a bit more. Definitely not a book for everyone, but I like that it really made me think! Fabulous mini-reviews Candace!

  5. For some reason I thought this was the last book in the Body Finder series, I need to get caught up. I really want to read Thumped and Bumped too. Hope you have been well, sorry I haven’t been by much, I have company here. I hope you read Destined, I really really enjoyed it. Fabulous book on Titanic, make sure you enter the giveaway on my blog for a copy :)

  6. Still not sure I’m going to pick up Thumped. Bumped just didn’t resonate with me though I completely agree about how crazy humanity can be. Sadly, I can see that kind of baby-crazy world really happening. *shudder*

  7. Oh my gosh, YAY for the brilliant five stars for The Last Echo!! <3 Ever since the way that the second book ended, I’ve been dying to get my hands on the third and I’m really glad to know that it’s amazing! :) I loved reading the killer’s POV in the previous books too, so it’s cool that that part returns in TLE. Plus, I’ve heard awesome things about Bumped before, so those two books are on my TBR too :)

    Awesome mini-reviews, Candace! <3

  8. I haven’t read either of these series yet, but I’ve heard really great things about them. Especially The Body Finder series. I’m glad all the installments are consistently great! Thanks for the fabulous mini reviews, Candace! :)

  9. I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I would bother with Bumped since so many people have so very opposite and mixed feelings on the series. I’m glad you enjoyed it though.

I really need to catch up on The Body Finder series. I have read book one but have yet to read book two even though I own it, have meet Kim a few times and have read The Pledge. Guess I need to catch up on her books lol.

Thanks for the great reviews, I actually like mini reviews from time to time, they get right to the point. I really think this would be a great way to move forward with your blog since you might just want to cut back but not leave it entirely.
