2012 Tudor Reading Challenge

2012 Tudor Reading Challenge Hosted by The Musings of ALMYBNENR

So I decided to sign up for the 2012 Tudor Reading Challenge hosted by Amber at The Musings of ALMYBNENR.  I have a few on my TBR already and this will help push me to get to them.  I do love reading about this time period!
All the books read for this challenge must be Tudor related. Books that feature any Tudor from Henry VII to Elizabeth I and any spouses, lovers, close family members, or themes count. There are a lot out there, so no worries!
  • Henry VII (Creator of a dynasty): 5 books
  • Henry VIII (Larger than life): 10 books
  • Mary I (The first queen of England): 15 books
  • Elizabeth I (Gloriana & the Golden Age): 20 books

I'm going to go for Henry VII: 5 books.  I could probably read more but I'll keep it simple for now since I have so many books to read already.

The books I know I plan to read are:
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
Mark of the Rose by Kate Pearce

I'll add others as I realize what they will be.

Sign up for the reading challenge HERE. Find recommended reads HERE.

You're a braver woman than I. While I really love this time period (ooh, that Tudors series was awesome!) I don't know if I could do a whole challenge. Huzzah to you!

I remember liking The Other Boleyn Girl when I first read it, but that was probably five or six years ago, and you know how reading tastes can change a bit as you get older, so I can't in good conscience give you a gung-ho positive recommendation, but here's hoping you'll enjoy it like I did!

Thanks so much for signing up, Candance! I know you have a lot on your plate, so I'm glad you decided to do this. *hugs*

This sounds interesting. I've been obsessed with Henry VIII for a long time and have read a few books featuring some of the Tudor family. I might think on doing this too.

I absolutely loved The other Boleyn Girl - one of my all time favourite reads! :D

I might think about entering this challenge but I've already read quite a lot of books in this area as I do love a good historical story.
