In My Mailbox (75)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren and is where we share the books we got through the week.
Due to slow internet I’m not posting a vlog this week.  I did one, I’m just out of patience waiting for the stupid thing to load onto the internet.
I stuck to my book buying ban again!  Woo hoo!  But it was very difficult.  And in order to stick to it I went to the library where I let myself go crazy getting books.  But since I already have so many to read there’s no way I’ll get to them all.  I’ll be lucky if I get two of them read before I need to return them.
From the library:
Warped by Maurissa Guidord- This one has been on my WL since it came out.  Really hope I can read it before I need to return it!
Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler- I’ve wanted to read this book since I read so many awesome reviews right after it came out.
Flash Burnout by LK Madigan- I’ve wanted to read this for ages.
Boyfriends With Girlfriends by Alex Sanchez- I saw this on galley grab awhile back and thought it sounded great.  I’m reading it now and it’s okay, not a real plot really, just about the characters and lots of dialogue.
Viola in Reel Life by Adriana Trigiani- I remember hearing of this one but once I got it I saw a lot of 3 star reviews.  So I probably won’t get to it.
Dreamland Social Club by Tara Altebrando- I really want to read this one!
You Don’t Know About Me by Brian Meehl- This was a random pick up.  It sounds really good though, a boy narrator (love that!) and a road trip!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor- YAY!  I can’t WAIT to read this one!
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson- read it right away and LOVED it.  LOVED!
The Little Bride by Anna Solomon- Read and reviewed already.  I didn’t much care for it. Just wasn’t my style.
That’s what was in my mailbox, what was in yours?
Thanks goes to Clark County Public Library, Amazon Vine, Little Brown, Greenwillow and Penguin for all these books!
Thanks for subscribing!

  1. I really enjoyed Fixing Delilah and Dreamland Social Club – I’ll be looking out to see what you think of them. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is in my to-read pile, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, so I’m very excited to start it.

P.S – I love your artsy shot of the second stack of books with the first stack in the back. Did you mean to do that? If not, pretend like you did. Haha

  2. Sweet. I haven’t bought anything lately at least not for myself. My IMM is books i bought a while ago. But there are a few i really want to buy just will have to wait. I really really really want to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone can’t wait to see what you think of it. Great books :)

  3. Congrats on sticking to your ban! I <3 my library. :)
Viola in Reel Life was really cute. Parts of it were a bit weird, but I really enjoyed it. Viola is just full of snark.

    Nice haul this week. Enjoy!

  4. Congrats on sticking to your book buying ban this week! And I can totally relate to your library dilemma, as I’ve had to return books unread more than once. Enjoy!

  5. Great books this week Candace! You should be proud sticking to your book buying ban too. I never stick to my bans for long, especially right now with the sales at Borders.

I’ve heard incredible stuff about The Daughter of Smoke & Bone, so I hope you enjoy it. I need to read it soon, since Laini Taylor will be coming to my area at the end of the month. Also, Fixing Delilah is one of my all-time faves so I really, really hope you love it.

  6. I’ve had Social Club for a while now and still haven’t read it! But after this month I will thankfully get to read more of my books (and yours!). Enjoy! :)
