Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
"You've built up this idea about me, this ideal, but I'm not that person. I'm not perfect. I'm far from perfect. I'm not worth such a beautiful story." "Lola, you are the story."
"But a story is just that. It isn't the truth."
Cricket smiles and returns to his work. The pink roses are added. "I know you aren't perfect. But it's a person imperfections that make them perfect for someone else."
Pg. 327
This quote is taken from an ARC, the finished copy may be changed or different in some way.
The story that he told her was beautiful and I really wanted to share it but it was way too long. You'll just have to make sure you pick the book up on September 29th!

I really enjoyed Lola.

OHMYGOSH! Every single line from the teaser is SO true... I can't even...ah!
ReplyDeleteCRICKET!! I don't think I've loved a book character so much as I love Cricket. And the story, GAHHH, the story. It's my absolute favorite scene/passage from the book. I want to share it with the world, but you're right; it's too long. Come September 29th though, I expect everyone to pick up Lola and read it lightning fast, then savor that scene.
