This is Avonlea (from The Eager Readers), myself and Suzanne at a booksigning (not sure which one, we've gone to a lot!). I thought I had a better picture but I'm not finding it :(When you think of your favorite things what are the first 10 things that come to mind?

5. SUNSHINE
6. Sleeping in
7. Diet Pepsi
8. Travel
9. Going to the movies

Who is your favorite character in one of your books?
Hm… How can I pick among my creations?? I think it might be Tessa from The Naughty List? She was just so darn fun to write!
And because I'm sure everyone is wondering (who doesn't already know) what can we see from you in the future?
I have the sequel A Want so Wicked coming out next summer. Yay! And then Spring 2013 I have a new series with Simon Pulse called The Program which is about a teen suicide epidemic and the cure that erases memories.

Description of A Need So Beautiful:
We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten...
Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.
But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.
Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences.

I'd like to say that I would help others and be forgotten. At least that's what I hope I'd do. Tough question.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
daniellesaunders1984(at)hotmail(dot)com
It might be selfish but I would probably want to be remembered.
ReplyDeleteChicklitgirl@live.com
I would choose to be forgotten by my blood relatives but not my own children.
ReplyDeleterobin [at] intensewhisper [dot] com
That is just a really tough question. I'd probably help people but I'd be searching for a way around it. It's interesting that it's actually a "good" thing but it sounds like a drug.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great interview. I loved the top 10 YA Fictional Characters question and answer!
My email is Amberinblunderland@yahoo.com
I have this perpetual need to help others, but I usually want to be invisable at the same time. So I think I would probably help and be forgotten. But that's easy to say when you're not actually faced with that reality.
ReplyDeletebritneywyatt[at]gmail[dot]com
I'd have to help the others. My loved ones would know they're loved and if they needed help I hope my selflessness would lead them to have someone like me in their corner. It's not about what we can do for ourselves, it's about helping those in need. And I believe that good things come to those who give so much to help others.
ReplyDeleteLoved the interview and thanks for the giveaway!
dani3222001(at)yahoo(dot)com
It should all be about selflessness, not selfishness. We all have feelings, but I'd rather help those in need.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, I've been hoping to get my hands on this book!
mcrs_venin(at)hotmail(dot)com
I would probably choose to help others and be forgotten. It would be tough to be forgotten by everyone you love but at least you would be helping people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway I've wanted to read this one for awhile :)
tiffanyinwonderland(at)hotmail(dot)com
I know the right answer is to help others and be forgotten...but I don't know if I'm selfless enough to make that choice. I think I'd rather be remembered.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!

I guess I'd rather help those in need. But it wouldn't be an easy decision.

Tough choices. If it means being forgotten by my loved ones, I would choose to be remembered. My reasoning is that if it means being forgetting by a loved ones, then who I am, the people who have shaped me would cease to exist. I would of course, try to help but hopefully find a loophole around it.
ReplyDeletecambonified{at}yahoo{dot}com
I'd like to say that I would help others. But when faced with that reality, who knows if it's true? I hope to have children one day, and I just can't stomach the feeling of abandoning said kids. My mother did it to me, and I could never do it to another person. Tough choices.

I'd help others. I couldn't stand myself if I didn't make that choice.
ReplyDeleteVivien

Ugh! That's a hard answer. I'd probably rather be remembered. I've worked hard to find myself and I wouldn't have an identity without being remembered. Hopefully as good memories.
ReplyDeletelindadao2060 at yahoo dot com
That's such a difficult decision lol... but I would probably prefer to help others. And now that I wrote that I'm gonna stick with it before I change my mind lol
ReplyDeleteaprilxu2222@gmail.com
I would help and be forgotten. I already have this need to help people no matter what it costs me, especially taking on their problems. Thank God I have a husband that reels me in from time to time. But unfettered, I would let it consume me.
ReplyDeleteHeather
hrose2931(at)gmail(dot)com
I think that I would choose to help others and be forgotten by loved ones because even if I am forgotten, I will still believe that the people I am helping will love me in their own way.
ReplyDeletesuchateenagebookworm@aol.com
that is sooo hard ! ummm i would help, because i would then feel the inner peace of being a good person :)

Cool interview, and really tough question. You do nice things to be remembered, right? But no one wants to be remembered as mean and selfish. And I don't think you're going to let us take the middle road and say "sort of help" are you?
ReplyDeleteIf I could, I wouldn't help, but I would do my best not to hurt people. Isn't that okay, too?
Thanks for the giveaway :)

That is a hard question...I would want to be remembered. But when push comes to shove, I would probably help others and be forgotten.

So tough. As much as I would like to be remembered, I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I could have helped someone but didn't.
ReplyDeletejaidahsmommy(at)comcast(dot)net
Tough question. I would choose to be forgotten, but try and leave things behind so that people could maybe remember...

love the cover of this book. thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win. have not checked out anything by this author and this book looks great.

Great interview. Love your top 10 things that come to mind. Going to the movies would have been my first one, then the smell of movie popcorn. Love the smell, I won't eat it, but I will smell it. They use way too much salt :( I am making a note of your top 10 fictional characters because some I haven't heard of :(
ReplyDeleteWow, what a question. But that isn't hard to me, I would help and be forgotten. It shouldn't be about you, it should be about those you care about.
Thank you guys so much for this giveaway and interview. I have been hearing about this everywhere, can't wait.
drharleyquinn87 (at) gmail (dot) com
That's a very difficult question if faced, but I would chose to help others. It would extremely sad, but if I could help them, it would be worth it.

I would hope that i would help others and be forgotten by my loved ones. tho, if theres a chance around that, im taking it. i want my cake and eat it too! thank you!

I couldn't handle being forgotten...It is my personal goal in this lifetime that I will be remembered 200 years or more from now but people other than my family...
ReplyDeletehense1kk AT cmich DOT edu
edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom GFC Krystal Larson I have been dying to read and review this novel, you are soooo lucky you have a copy :) I would rather be forgotten and help others. It's in my nature to prefer to help others (premed) and I never get anything from it except their gratitude (sometimes not even that). I just feel so much better at the end of the day knowin someone's life is genuinely better (I know this sounds cliched, but it's true for me and my life for now). I also have to admit that in a weird way, I much prefer anonymity. I prefer to be out of the spotlight, so being forgotten, even by family, doesn't sound so bad. Thank you for this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYes I would help others and be forgotten. That's my nature to sacrifice myself. I'm not the type to look for recognition. It's enough to know that someone is better off with my help.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

in the end it all comes down to that right...I think I'd choose to be forgotten and help, I wouldn't like to be remembered as the one who didn't help!

Wow candy corn and cheese - a person after my own heart. Thank you for this lovely giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeletedz59001[at]gmail[dot]com
I would help someone even if it meant I was forgotten. The only ones that would forget me that would really hurt are my kids, but knowing that I helped someone else would help with that. And knowing that they would have a mom to be proud of would help too.
ReplyDeletethemgowl at gmail dot com
Tough question. I think I would rather help people and be forgotten. That would be the right thing to do. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteWow, i have no idea. The obvious choice would be to help people, but i don't want to be forgotten. Then again, we will all be forgotten some day.
ReplyDeletealiciacald at gmail dot com
I think I would rather do something and be forgotten than do nothing and be remembered. The reason is because people may remember me as a bad person or a good one. At least knowing that I did something and was forgotten means no one will bother thinking of me with their bias opinion.
ReplyDeleteajiehuang1997@gmail.com
I think I would like to help others even if I am forgotten, Thats probably the most honorable thing anyone could ever do with their life!
ReplyDeletetoreynmarjie@yahoo.com
Sounds like a great book...thanks for the chance to win:)
ReplyDeletemk261274 at gmail dot com
That's a hard one. I think if I had the family I do now, with a daughter, I'd want to be remembered. If not, I would help others.

I hope I'd help others and be forgotten (by all my loved ones).
ReplyDeletejlkalman26 at gmail dot com
I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't help and be forgotten, but I wouldn't say I would do it selflessly!
ReplyDeletejwitt33 at live dot com
Ohmigosh, this is a tough decision. I would think that if I were to be remembered, it end in a bad way...but to know I left an imprint on the world, it would be okay to be forgotten...though I couldn't imagine no one remembering me or that they love me or I love them.

I am so excited for The Program!! It sounds incredible and interesting and just wow. Great list of favorite things too. I'm a huge fan of Reese's Pieces, but candy corn makes me sick if I eat too much (and I always eat too much). Thanks for stopping by and sharing some of your favorite things, Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteI'd probably help others. it's just my way.
