Waiting on Wednesday (3): The Pledge and my obsession over it.

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.  It spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

I had this post prepped just as a random post but decided I'd do it as a WoW since it just happens to be Wednesday!

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she's spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can't be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country's only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
It's scheduled for release November 15th, 2011 by Margaret K. McElderberry

Do you ever obsess over books?  For me I've been obsessed about getting my hands on The Pledge.  I'm suppose to get an ARC but it hasn't arrived yet and every day I run out to the mail to only be disappointed it's not here yet.  It's still early, I know this.  But I NEED that book!  Kim is super amazingly awesome but if it doesn't arrive in the mail soon I may just drive up to her house (she doesn't live so far away) and beg, on my hands on knees, to just give me a copy cause I can't wait any longer!   I know that mine is coming.  But WHEN?!  I'm going to go crazy!  I NEED this book last week!  Or actually, the week before.  But if we're going back in time we can go back to when I first heard about the book a couple months ago.

I've been obsessing about this book so much that the other night I had a dream I was flying somewhere and Kim was flying with me and had brought an ARC of The Pledge.  I was SO excited!  Then I opened it and it was a manga.  She was so excited and told me it was a secret, a big surprise for people!  I was so disappointed.  So. Disappointed.  But I love her and so I faked excitement.  The dream went in some other very crazy places but I won't get into that.  The point is, that was my second crazy dream about this book.  So if I don't get this book soon I may have to stop sleeping cause these dreams aren't fun anymore.  Just give me the freaking book already!

Note: I would never actually go and stalk Kimberly Derting.  This post is really just to share my excitement for this book :)
