Spring Blog Carnival Challenge, w/ Giveaways- The Food Court

Hello my lovely carnival attendees!  Welcome to the food court!  Please, take a seat and look around.  We have some tasty dishes here, but would you first like to warm up with some latte?  This chilly Spring weather can put a chill in the bone.
The Latte Rebellion

Perhaps you’d like a cupcake?  We have every flavor imaginable!
Of course your welcome to some English Trifle. Mmmmm… I’m melting just thinking about it.
English Trifle
She also has some Blackberry Crumble, Devil’s Food Cake, Lemon Tart and Key Lime Pie if those are more to your taste.
Devil's Food Cake
Lemon Tart: A Culinary Mystery (Culinary Mysteries (Deseret Book)) Key Lime Pie: A Culinary Mystery Blackberry Crumble: A Culinary Mystery
Perhaps you prefer something a bit more healthy?
Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)
Whatever your taste is, we have it!  Because this is one place that you can find every kind of food imaginable.
Now, down to business.
Would you like to win some of these books?  Maybe some swag?
Well, you could!
What you can win:
I have The Latte Rebellion by Sarah Jamila Stevenson and some bookmarks and a notepad (very cute!)
It’s Raining Cupcakes by Lisa Schroeder (I should be seeing her Tuesday so I’ll bring it along to get it signed :) This is the Scholastic version but is brand new!
and
English Trifle by Josi S. Kilpack *signed*
This isn’t the first in the series but I read it and not the others and found that each has it’s own mystery so it wasn’t really necessary to read the others. This book has been read a few times and shows a little bit of wear, but no cracks in the spine, rips or tears.
The Giveaway and Rules:

One person with a US address will win all three books, and sticky notes and a bookmark from Sarah Jamila Stevenson.  *Huge thanks to the author for providing the sticky notepad and the bookmarks*
One international person (anywhere outside the US) will win a book of choice (under $10) from The Book Depository (they must ship to you) that has food on the cover.
Must be 13 to enter.
Must complete the challenge listed below.
Challenge Ends May 9th, 2011 around midnight EST
The Challenge:
If you were to go to a food court and had unlimited funds and a never ending stomach what would you order?  It can be any food in the whole world!  You must use 75 words or more.  Leave it in the comments, or if you choose to make a post then just link me.  Leave a way to contact you!  And please let me know if your US or International!
My example:
Ah, so many foods to choose from!  I would start with getting a caramel mocha to warm up a bit because this NW air is just a bit chilly yet.  While sipping my piping hot mocha I would step into line to pick up some crab puffs.  You know, maybe 6 or so since they are one food I can just eat forever.  Maybe 6 is just not enough…  Onto the fried strawberries.  Ah… delicious!  Time to slip in some chocolate before we move on… how about a deep fried snickers? Oh YUM!  Now I’m ready for the cheesecake.  On a stick!  Yes, it tastes much better on a stick.  With chocolate drizzled on it.  Now all that sweet stuff has me craving something greasy.  Oh, yes, some yummy fries dipped in ketchup and mayo is just the thing.  Now, please excuse me while I go and puke…

  1. Carnivals are known for fried food and food on sticks (many of it a combination of both). I have seen everything from the traditional corn dogs to amazing pizza (pretty much a calzone with a stick stuck through it) to fried soda which were little ravioli-type things with an ice cube of soda in the middle that were dropped in the deep fryer for mere seconds. However, if I could choose anything, I would order the spiral-cut homemade potato chips covered in cheddar and parmesan, with some bacon thrown on for good measure.

    I’m in the US!

  2. Um…right now I am definately craving some pizza…with lots of cheese and italian sausage. Follow that with an Italian sausage on a bun with lots of cooked onions. Both washed down with an ice cold Dr. Pepper. Good thing that this is in my head cause my stomach definately could not hold all that!

  3. Someone once told me that dessert should go before the actual meal. Well, I can work with that! I’d be heading to the booth where all kinds of pastries are on offer and nibble myself through the sugary chocolaty cakes and cookies. For good measure (and so Mom won’t scold me) I’d then go over to the next counter and have a salad. A small one. Gotta leave room for the giant cheese pizza that needs to follow. And because you can start AND end with dessert I’d have candyfloss for good measure.

    P.S.: I’m international!

  4. I would start with a slice of pizza and a diet mountain dew. Then I would move on to a pretzel (love those!). Next up is a sausage sub with peppers and onions and an order of nice and greasy onion rings with some fresh-squeezed lemonade. To finish it all up I would head toward the funnel cakes and enjoy all I can eat!

    crystalfulcher(at)ec.rr.com

  5. Along with having a never ending stomach and budget I am going to pretend I am not diabetic either. So I would start with a decaf caramel ice coffee (a yummy way to start the day!)and a raspberry jelly donut. I would then gorge myself on cupcakes in a variety of flavors (I’m not picky). Champagne chocolate truffles and some chai tea (probably iced), a huge slice of pizza, fries, lobster, root beer, and a delicious piece of key lime pie. Black and white cookies, rugelach, palmiers, and rainbow cookies would round things out nicely as well. Obviously I have a sweet tooth :)

  6. Man I wish this was real I would love to have an unlimited budget for food as well as the never ending stomach. Lets see I would start with dessert. I love dessert so I would get some white cake (its my favorite) and also red velvet cake (Yum!!) Then I think I would have a huge plate of nachos!! Followed by a couple of corn dogs and then a nice juicy cheeseburger with bacon, bbq sauce, and grilled onions on it. Then I think I would go back to dessert again and eat some godiva truffles especially the hazelnut praline ones. I think I would also have rice crispy treats dipped in chocolate and and some chocolate covered strawberries. Good thing I just ate or I would be hungry again!

  7. It’s no secret that at food courts I am a sucker for pizza. The more gooey cheese and pepperoni that can be piled on, the better. I’d have to start with two, no make that three, slices. And of course I’d need an ice cold Coca Cola to wash it down (none of that diet or zero crap).

If I’m still feeling kinda hungry I might swing by the Chinese place because I love me some beef with broccoli (I actually just had this for dinner last night). I could eat an entire carton of that.

For dessert, no mall food court is complete without a Cinnabon. I would get myself two Cinnabons with extra icing for each. I’d slather on the frosting and indulge myself.

It’s such a bad idea that there’s a mall directly across from where I am right now. With a pizza place and a Cinnabon …

  8. I would have to start off with funnel cakes…since this is a carnival theme. But since you also mentioned a food court…I would stop at Chik-fil-A (love that place)and get some nuggets and their waffle fries to dip in some mayo. Then I would have to find a place that served chocolate…Preferably a chocolate croissant. And finish it off with a box of Godiva chocolate. I can feel my hips growing just as I write this:)
    Thanks for the giveaway!!
    Angie
    bangersis(at)msn(dot)com

  9. I would order a nice, hot slice of my favourite pizza and a hot chocolate with marshmallows on top. I would also order a croissant with lemon curd filling *drool* and probably a slice of a cake with multiple layers of chocolate on it. If they had a Ferrerro cake, I’d buy the whole thing and eat it right there. Oh! And since it’s a carnival, I’d want my candy floss on a stick too:)

    Thanks:)

    sarah.setar@gmail.com

  10. Oh wow, I can think of loads of things I would eat. I guess I would start with some fried mozzarella and southwestern eggrolls. Oh, and gyoza. Then I’d move on to tons of sushi. Spicy tuna rolls mostly. Next I’d get my favorite Hawaiian food. Kahlua pork, lau lau, lomi lomi salmon, chicken longrice, and my very favorite ahi poke. Next I’d get my grandma to make me a giant Mexican food feast- homemade tortillas, beans, red rice, potatoes, and fideo. Then I’d move on to dessert. Lots of cheesecake, lemon bars, those Portuguese milk tarts my husband makes and I still can’t spell correctly, Bluebell Ice Cream, and of course, mochi. Man, I’m hungry now!

    lhoffpauir at gmail

  11. Thanks for the giveaway! I think that if I was able to eat anything that I want from a food court I would have to say I would get a lot of fried dough with sauce and cheese. That’s a wonderful carnival food! Also, I would get an ice cream cone, just vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. If I was going with something not carnival related, then I would have to say I would get mozzerella sticks with marinara sauce :)

  12. The food in our carnival are pretty much similar but there are also some differences. Here in my country we always have steamed or roasted corn during carnival, which I will eat after I eat my cotton candy, then I will eat hamburger or hotdog. Lastly, I will drink a very refreshing drink consists of jelly made from tapioca mixed with slices of jack-fruit and coconut milk. Sounds weird to you? Trust me, it’s yummy.

  13. Give me the good old fashioned hamburger, loaded! I would love a side of greasy cheese fries and onion rings. (I love onion rings and can’t eat them because they give me heartburn!) I’d wash it all down with Dr. Pepper, ice cold please. I’d have to visit the pastries and then top it all off with a waffle cone filled with cookie dough ice cream. There would be multiple trips to the shaved iced stand. I’m glad this is pretend because I can see my pants no longer fitting. :0)

  14. OMG. I love food :D
Though If I had to pick some food I would eat I would choose salmon. Fish with butter and potatoes.
And I often eat tortillias with salat and salmon :P Yummi :)

Though there are something I love more then food. Dessert xD I love chokolate. Chokolate pudding, chokolate ice cream, uhh.. and strawberries :P I could continue a long way with all the food I love. And Pizza is never to hit wrong :P At a party :P haha

Luckily I found myself an cook as a boyfriend :P Because I love food. But suck at making it xD

  15. If funds were unlimited and my stomach was never ending I would eat FRIED TWINKIES! There’s just something quite delicious about a batter covered, grease dripping twinkie. I would dip in powdered sugar or melted chocolate. Heck, I’d put peanut butter on it. Forget putting it on a stick, that takes too much time and I could get shanked in the mouth while trying to consume this delicious carnival staple. Nothing but fried twinkies for this girl.

  16. Carnivals can have really great food!!! I would definetly get an elephant ear or 2 or 3 w/ mounds of powdered sugar!!! and pizza! and lemonade!! oh and Corn dog!! nothing like a hot dog on a stick!!
    Well now I’m hungry!!!
    Shannon Johnson
    shannonjean14(at)gmail(dot)com

  17. If I had unlimited funds and a never ending stomach I would order Starbucks Kona coffee and banana nut loaf at the food court.

No sipping aromatic hot liquid for me! I’d have a Java IV inserted in my veins to keep from having to cease chewing the delicious, moist fruity nut bread that makes my eyes roll with bliss.

Of course it would have to be a 24-hour carnival food court, because the tasty treat and fragrant keep-awake liquid would certainly supply me with fabulous imaginary characters to write about. I’d be pinging off the walls with great ideas that would result in a sure best-seller!

  18. “Life is short, eat dessert first!” That would be my motto in this case! I would start with some funnel cake with strawberries, whipped cream, and icing sugar on top. Maybe 2 or 3 of those. Then head over to the cotton candy stall where I would get 1 bag of the pink and 3 of the blue (since I like the blue better)and snack on that while I head over to the ice cream station. “A chocolate dipped cone please! Oh, and drizzle some peanut butter and some caramel sauce on top too please!” Now I need something to wash this all down with so I’ll head over to the drink stall and wait for my caramel mocha latte to warm me up after the ice cream. I think I would end with a caramel apple or two – the special kind that are also dipped in chocolate and covered with sprinkles and peanut pieces. MMMmmmm….. :)

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  20. I would get a large thick crust cheese with black olive pizza. I’d have a tall glass of iced tea to wash it down. Then I’d have to indulge in a huge hot fudge sundae. Since I’m diabetic I really can’t have anything but the tea, but it’s nice to imagine.

  21. Dearest and Honorable Food Court. Let me present you today’s menu to me:
As hors d’oeuvre I would like to serve myself a grilled tale of lobster with a light taste of garlic and served with a slice of lime. That would be a delicious amuse-bouche.
After that I would like to serve myself a veil Carpaccio with ruccola salad and grated parmesan cheese.

This would be followed by grilled salmon with baby potatoes and baby carrots and served with béarnaise sauce and lemon.

Finally, I would allow myself freshly brewed cafe latte with chocolate and ice-cream cake with strawberry sauce.

Wouldn’t that be just awesome? :)

  22. o0o0 endless funds, and a neverending stomach!? well, first off, i hope that doesn’t mean im HUGE haha. But on with the challenge. Once i enter the carnival, i’d like to buy some STARBUCKS, yes there is a starbucks at the carnival, a triple white chocolate mocha exta pump extra extra hot. :chills: spring weather. while walking around and playing some games, ill go and get me some FUNNEL CAKE (YAY!), w/ powdered sugar, chocoloate syrup, strawberries, and ICE CREAM… =) after digesting and riding some rides, i would then go for some Applebee’s Oriental Chicken salad, yes there IS an Applebee’s too (AWESOME carnival, right!?)…during more games, i will be munching on some good ol’ corn dogs, cotton candy (EVERY FLAVOR), snow cone (EVERY COLOR), and maybe a little popcorn =D.. and after the last game of ring toss, and spending my last round of quarters for the games. i will top it all off for the night with maybe a LITTLE dinner before heading home (drat it’s already getting late)… i think ill go get some Pepperoni Pizza CHEESESTEAK w/ curly fries and a shake from the CheeseSteak Shop. mMmMm…OhMyGosh, this carnival is the BESTEST they have good choices in food. 23. Honestly, my biggest problem in a food court is deciding on exactly what to eat. I would have to take a sampling of just about everything, starting with dessert of course. I’d hit up the frozen bananas and an elephant ear, followed by a snow cone and a deep fried twinkie (I’ve always wanted to try one of those). Then on to the more substantial foods, trying out the various ethnicities represented at the fair. I’d start with the classics of a corndog and a plate of curly fries, then on to the asian noodles, the shiskabobs, and of course some corn on the cob. I’d finish off with a yummy smothie or a nice big soda to wash it all down.

  24. If I had unlimited funds and a never ending stomach I would order a mix of sushi (YUM) and lasagna! Hum…maybe some brazilian barbecue, too? Hamburgers! Condensed milk pudding… GODIVA CHOCOLATE! LMAO!!! :D
    Great, now I’m hungry. :P

  25. If I had unlimited money and a never ending stomach, I don’t think I would ever stop eating. I love food! I would probably start with desert of a chocolate lava cake and work backwards. I would have lobster somewhere in there because it is my favorite, but I’m not sure what other real meals I would have… Maybe I’d just do an around the world thing and try all the ethnic food (like falafel! I love me some middle eastern cuisine). I am sure I would also eat a ton of fruit! Both domestic and tropical/exotic- I feel disgusting if I don’t have fresh fruit. Probably next I would either make my way back to desert and have any cake with cream cheese frosting, as well as an assortment of chocolates and cookies. If I was really feeling gross, I’d make my way back over to the fruit department and have alot of smoothies/juices.

Hey… does a never-ending stomach include not getting heavier or dying from health issues? If so… I should probably stop eating now… but oh! Look at the food!

    Thanks for the chance!

  26. I am planning a buffet lunch at my locals mall’s food court. My first stop it at the Smoothie’s shop for a cool and refreshing palette cleansing fresh lemonade. My next stop is for some of the sweet and delicious Bourbon Chicken. Ahhh.. so good. When I am at the mall I just can’t pass up a yummy Beef Gyro with the works, including onions with a side of McDonalds french fries. Yumm..I am just about reading for dessert and am eyeing up a sweet and decadent caramel hot fudge brownie sundae with a cool shipped cream mountain on top. I am going to wash it all down with Snapple Green Tea.

    rjofus AT gmail DOT com

  27. Wow! This is my type of challenge. I would have a gyro with a side of Greek salad to start. I would then travel to Italy for a calzone, then on to France for a crepe with nutella and Switzerland for some fondue of the chocolate variety with fruit, marshmallows and pound cake to dip. I would top it off with an all American ice cream sundae with a cherry on top. Yummy! I’m so glad I was wearing my stretchy pants. LOL

  28. We all know that Carnivals are the definite demise of a healthy diet (LOL). In my case, the moment I step into a Carnival or fair, my nose is met with the most enticing aromas that I’m convinced that Heaven must be a Carnival.

With my nose leading, my mind & body following, and my stomach growling…I set out for the search of a perfect Carnival feast. I am sure the first place I’d land would be a booth selling “Elote” which is a Mexican-style grilled corn-on-the-cob slathered with mayonnaise and cotija cheese, served with lime wedges. As the corn grains crescendo like a sweet symphony in my mouth, I’d probably set out in search of Deep fried dill pickles, the yummy goodness of which I was completely unaware until I spent some time in the South. This would soon be followed by a corn dog, because I mean, leaving a carnival without eating a corn dog is a felony, is it not? If it’s not, it SHOULD BE! And then a plate of gooey, cheesy nachos topped with lots of jalapenos and fresh pico de gallo. Don’t worry about me choking on my extraneous indulgence, I’d be washing it all down with a tall glass of Limoncello (the vodka replaced by club soda, ofcourse…sheesh!).

Okay, right about now, I’d have to unbotton the jeans, and take a breather. But I am no quitter, and I must go the distance because EVERYONE knows, the DESSERT is KING at the Carnival! So I’m off to the “deep fried everything” vendors. “A deep fried Snickers, please!”,I call out. Ask and thou shalt receive, and voila, I’m handed a Deep Fried Snicker. As my taste buds explode with sheer richness of flavor, my mind is already hankering towards my next, and last conquest. Growing up, there was one thing that I ALWAYS associated with indulgence, and carnivals, and that was….*drumroll* Caramel Apples! So I’m getting myself a Caramel Apple rolled in nuts. As the sweet, sticky caramel antagonizes the tart, sour freshness of the Granny Smith apple, I am in such a heavenly state that my feet are no longer touching the ground. Which is a good thing, if you ask me, because after all that food, I sure as heck would not be able to WALK! (The End).

That, ladies and gentlemen, would be the epitome of perfection at a Carnival food court. Only in an imaginary world would I be able to achieve that feat.Didn’t I come here with a date? I think I lost him somewhere between the nachos and the Snickers…bwahahaha! lol :P

Thank you for this amazing giveaway opportunity! :D

  29. YAY..The food court is here.

A never ending stomach would make me tried any kind of pie. Chocolate, appele or strawberry pies would be my first choice. Then move to tart. Any kind of flavor would be nice. But I am going to check a cheese tart first. Then move to any kind of cupcakes. Cupcake with peanut, jam, blueberry, chocolate inside would be in the top of my playlist. After that move to sushi and any kind of Japanese food such as Ramen, Chicken Katsu or Teriyaki. As a closing I would grab its green tea ice cream.

    I live in Indonesia (international)

  30. I believe I’ve already participated in this challenge every time I go to a carnival so this should be an easy answer for me…
To start off, I’m going to need an iced tea (a absolutely ginormous one since there’s nothing worse than being thirsty when you get to the good stuff). Next up are churros, you can never have too many of them. While I’m there I’ll grab some fried dough with extra powered sugar. To mix things up I think I’ll have a turkey leg next which is so stinkin’ good but so gross to look at that it must be followed up by cotton candy. Before leaving the carnival, I’ll need to get the best french fries in the world. I have no idea what it is about carnival fries, but they are superior to anywhere else’s.
I hope I don’t get stuck on any of the rides after eating all of this…

    I’m from the US :)

  31. If I was in a food court and had unlimited amount of funds as well as unlimited amount of space in my stomach what food would I choose? I’d go to many restaurants. I wouldn’t just stick with one. I’d get sweet and sour chicken and fried rice from the Chinese restaurant as well as a fortune cookie. I’d get Habachi shrimp and grilled vegetables from the Japanese restaurant. From the sandwich shop I’d get a Philly cheesesteak and French fries. If I was still in the mood I’d get a slice of spinach alfredo pizza. I’d wash it all down with a giant glass of sweet tea. For desert I’d get a chocolate milk shake. You said food court and in my mind I pictured the food court at a mall.

    I’m from the US.

  32. First thing first I’d get myself a large lemonade, the perfect combination of sweet and sour, mmmmmm. Then I’d get some yummy kettle corn from the lady with the giant wooden ladle and giant black kettle. Next stop FUNNEL CAKE, doused with powdered sugar and maybe another one for good measure. Now it’s off to the guy with the grill to get some Buffalo burgers (yes real Buffalo), greasy fries and a coke. While perusing the knick-knack booths I’ll snack on some deep fried mozzarella. Iced hot chocolate time with some buckeyes, so good. And for the road another funnel cake.

Thanks for the giveaway, I live in the U.S.

    Morganlafey86(at)aol(dot)com

  33. I going with the food court at my local mall, so I’d start with some auntie anne’s pretzels, the cinnamon ones, coated with extra butter. then I’d step over to the pizza counter and order some stuffed crust pizza, with some dipping sauce. And since we’re talking never ending stomach, I’d need some sweet & sour chicken with pork fried rice and 2 shrimp egg rolls. Extra duck sauce. And a big diet coke to wash it all down!! Forgot my desert, I would go to the gourmet bakery and get some elaborate cinnamon rolls. God I’m hungry now!! :)

  34. Yum, I’m drooling just reading about all the wonderful foods everyone is picking. If I had unlimited income and could eat forever what would I chose? *ponders* I think I would definitely stick with Greek and Italian dishes. I am in love with Greek food like spanakopita, Pastiso, and Dolmadas. The first is a filo dough with feta cheese and lots of spinach and is just the best ever. The second one is a pasta dish that has a light light red sauce with ground beef and I think some subtle cheese in it. The third is Grape leaves that have rice, hamburger, lots of delicious seasonings all wrapped up and cooked. With the italian dishes I’m not too picky.. I dig all kinds of pasta dishes, whether its red or white sauce or a mix of both with chicken or shrimp or steak… I’m not too picky, anything that is delicious will make me happy. And I’d also top that off with some yummy Elephant Ears (totally forgot about those until someone mentioned them, YUM!) I’d definitely have some blue AND pink Cotton Candy. I’d also have a huge cup filled the whole time with some Iced coffee, preferably one that is similar to Mcdonalds Iced Hazlenut Coffees. If it was just starbucks I’d do an Iced coffee with Hazlenut/Vanilla and white mocha. *drools*

    thanks for the fun! :D

    swtlilangel4jc at yahoo dot com

  35. This is a tough one because I’m a total foodie and my tastes are very eclectic. I would start with some crab cakes and jambalaya with a tall glass of ice-cold lime coke. This would be followed with a bowl of rich cream of mushroom soup and fresh-baked bread. For the entree, lamb chops and lasagna. Dessert would be ice cream cake. Later, tiramisu with a piping hot cup of chai. At the end of the meal, some Bailey’s along with chocolate fondue, warm bread pudding and 3 flavors of ice cream:
    . Pistachio
    . Coffee Almond Fudge
    . Butter Pecan

    monagargATyahooDOTcom

  36. LOL! Well, right now, I’m in the mood for: tacos with rice and beans. I could also go for a cheeseburger, milkshake, and fries, some chicken nuggets with honey mustard and/or barbeque sauce. If I were really really hungry, hmmm…. I could probably add a chicken sandwich to that and some chicken teriyaki with fried rice. And I would top it off with some dessert! Ice cream, definitely. Probably cookies and cream and just plain vanilla, unless they have a Ben & Jerrys stand with wacky flavors. Can’t really think of any other dessert items at the food court that I would like.

Great challenge, but its made me hungry! :P

  38. Oh my! Heaven on earth……endless rows of tasty treats! I would start off with a frosty mug of homemade root beer a favorite at our local fair. Onward on my endless feast……The grand daddy of all fair food, a hot dog on a stick, yum. Next I go to the booth with those fantastic hand cut fries where I not only add MORE salt to the already sodium lace basket, I top them all with a good soaking of malt vinegar! Ok I am starting to drool…. deserts? what should I have? why not a few, after all this is an endless feast! 41. There are few things as wonderful as carnival food. I love funnel cakes – especially when the powdered sugar ends up all over everyone and all day long you smell and taste sweet. I’ve loved funnel cones filled with fresh baked miniature chocolate chip cookies that melted chocolate smears across lips and fingertips. And how many bags of kettle corn have I loved alone…bags as tall as small children. And then turkey legs wrapped in foil, warm apples and warm caramel sauce, finally ending the day with a chilled cup of lemon ice. Honestly, has there been a more deserving bellyache in the whole world?

  42. Oh, goodness! Not sure I want this challenge to be real! I’ve recently become a vegetarian, so I think that knocks off half of the menu items at a carnival. I’m not a huge fan of cotton candy, either. Funnel cake, on the other hand! Ohhhh and I love French fries. Maybe I’ll take you up on that healthier option and take an apple. But can I have it chocolate dipped? :D

  43. I’m going to write this in third person:

“Irene walks into the Spring Blog Carnival. The first thing she does is head straight for the food court since her parents had finally given her the allowance that they had owed her since 2 weeks ago. It was also her first time ever going to a Carnival this big. She looks around the food court and notices all the different food that was available. Her mouth salivates as her eyes runs over the different menus. She heads to the first food booth that caught her eye and ordered some cotton candy to reward herself for completing her classes for the day. She then continued to look at the other available food as the cotton candy melts in her mouth. She heads to another food booth and buys a box of California rolls which she finishes within 3 minutes. She then decides that she needs more real food and goes to buy Chow Mein and 5 chicken kebabs. She sits at a table and finishes her Chow Mein. She then slowly eats her chicken kebabs and gets up to buy something to drink. After a while, she decides on buying BRISK lemon ice tea. She opens the bottle and starts to drink it while also finishing her chicken kebabs on the side. After she was done, she finally bought a cookies n’ cream ice cream cone and a cup of caramel flan. She licked her ice cream and continued to lick it until it was all gone. After she was done, she finished her cup of caramel flan. She then heads to a candy booth and buys all the different candies that she liked, which consisted of Snickers, M&Ms, Skittles, Milky Ways, Hersheys Cookies n’ Cream, Smarties, Gummy Worms, Whoppers, and Kit Kats, and put them all in a bag which she slowly gets the candy out from as she walks off to other booths in the carnival.”

    Thanks for this giveaway! XD

  44. Always hit the food court at the mall. Love, love Annie’s Pretzels that would be my first stop with a first squeezed lemonade. Yummmm!
Next I’m off to Cinnabun’s. I’d have to have a couple of those. Now off to Olga’s they have the best salads and sandwichs, with curly fries. A couple of Chicago Hot Dogs. Nothing better then a good hot dog with all the wonderful toppings. Last but not least a wonderful waffle cone with Butter Pecan Ice Cream. Boy thinking about all this yummy treats I’m going to have to hit the mall tomorrow. I may get the pretzel and the lemonade and have to go back the next day for the next thing on the list.

  45. Here’s what I would love to eat
KFC chicken sandwiches with mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy and coleslaw. With an iced tea. Then I would get Orange chicken with noodles and rice,(I like chicken)and a Dr. Pepper. Then I would get a half dozen chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven! Then I would go for a nice Orange Julius! Mcdonalds for a Double QP with cheese, fries and a strawberry milkshake! Then to finish I would get 2 slices of pizza with onions, extra cheese, black olives, sausage, green peppers and mushrooms with a cold Coke!

  46. “Ice Cream and Donuts, and chocolate with no nuts, sprinkles and jellies and strawberry smellies, almond joys, taffy, so good I could sing, these are a few of my favorite things!!”
Haha, two words. Creme Brulee. And lots of it, thank you!! That sugar, that pudding, that amazing smell!! Next off to Auntie Annies, those delectable pretzals you smell across the mall and you think “grrr, but I’m on a diet!” and then….Cold stone! Where you get Ice cream that sings to you-literally!!
“Sprinkle Sprinkle Ice cream cone, there you’re sitting all alone, then someone comes here to eat, so much better then fried meat! Sprinkle sprinkle Ice cream cone, no more sitting all alone!”
And milkshakes at BK, the delectable, delicious, amazing, melting, most milky shakes all around!!! Lovely! <3

  47. Okay, this is so easy. Hands down I would choose Greek Gyros with a side of cheese fries. Gyros are amazing. Shaved lamb slices, tzatziki sauce(basically plain yogurt with cucumber and lemon), diced tomatoes, and onions. All wrapped in a pita. It might not sound like much but oh god, it’s my favorite food in the world. And to make it even more unhealthy, add a side of cheese fries. And I would keep going back up for more. Yum.

  48. I am heading for the pizza! You know, the kind dripping with greasy cheese and pepperoni, and the pieces are humongous. Just when I think I will pop, I get a whiff of the cinamonster cinnamon buns and my nose pulls me to the counter where I pick out the largest one they have and I manage to eat the whole thing! Then a kid walks by eating an ice cream cone. So, off I go to the ice cream counter and get a double scoop of strawberry which I gobble up. Then, suddenly I realize that I am so thirsty and I top it all off with a Diet Coke.

  49. I love chocolate! I also am known for using any possible excuse to eat and buy different kinds of chocolate. That said, I would order a chocolate milkshake (the thick kind), chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate-covered pretzels, different pieces of truffles such as dark chocolate enrobed in milk chocolate :), chocolate-covered oreo, chocolate-covered bacon (my sanity is mostly intact…), and now I’d better switch over to non-chocolate foods since I have unlimited funds and all ;) I would probably get a nice funnel cake with lots of fine sugar, a hot chocolate (doesn’t count as chocolate for me ;) with whipped cream and chocolate drizzles, blueberry pie, cotton candy (must be either the blue or yellow or pink flavor-picky that way, I don’t care if people insist they all taste the same *sniffs*), I would definitely go for a cinnamon roll with lots of icing, and then a bottle of water (must stay hydrated for the roller coasters!). To tell the truth, when my family (extended included) go to a carnival, we actually buy all of this stuff and have a picnic. After all, everything in moderation and a fun carnival only comes around once a year ;)

  50. My favorite food is pasta. With my unlimited cash flow and bottomless pit of a stomach, I would order every type of pasta there could ever be. Each type with every kind of past sauce there is. Countless combinations of pasta would be the best ever!Especially with pesto. Then I would head for dessert! Creme brulee is where its at when it comes to satisfying my sweet tooth! Oh, and the drinks… Margaritas with a ton of salt! Salt and tequila, the perfect ending to my day filled with endless pasta and creme brulee!

  51. Whoa!! Its my dream come true. well lets see…i would first start off with a lemon ice tea or maybe some orange juice. Then I would grab a couple of crab or prawn puffs. Some deep fried chicken legs and hot dogs with loads of mayo. And I always keep the best for last so…..CARBONARA PASTA!!! This is my favorite so unless you wanna lose a limb..hands off!!! damn it….now i’m hungry. maybe i’ll fix myself some mac n cheese now. :D

  52. A really good, cold, Dr. Pepper! Some awesome steak. Cooked perfectly! Some awesome roasted red potatoes sliced just right. A creamy, delectable, melt in your mouth cheesecake drizzled with chocolate and a little caramel sauce, topped with a bit of whipped topping. I’m easy to please! ha ha

  53. Oh my word… where to start?! I think I would absolutely have to start with baklava covered in vanilla ice cream. I’d love me some frog eye salad, red velvet cupcakes & heaps of ice cream. I love desserts… can ya tell? As for real food, I think I’d get a delicious, juicy burger with avocado & bacon in addition to the typical condiments. Gotta have a peanut butter & chocolate milkshake to wash it all down. OH! And fried pickles… gotta have the fried pickles. Oh my word, my mouth is watering!

  54. Never-ending funds and bottomless stomach! OMG, i am so loving this carnival! I would begin with a swig of water, warm up – Sip an iced tea, follow it with some chocolate doughnuts! A leisurely stroll and grab a hot dog and a hamburger after, wash that down with some cold coffee. Ooo some chocolate moose after with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. What the hell- I’ll just get a super sized Sunday. Time to go home, i’ll get myself a lollipop to accompany me on the walk!:D

  55. My favorite cuisine is Indian, and the closest Indian restaurant is an hour away, so I don’t eat it very often. So in my food court, I would start with some nice hot naan bread with some mint chutney and some cool mango chutney. Then I would eat about a dozen samosas, because I absolutely love them. Then I would move on to curries (served over basmati rice of course): I would get channa masala, channa saag, and every color of dal you can think of. Then I would eat bombay potatoes and any other kind of Indian potato I could imagine. For dessert, I would have coconut milk ice cream and some fresh mango. I am drooling just thinking about all of it.

  56. I would start with tapas. A little taste is a great way to whet the appetite. A little cheese, some fresh bread, olives, and whatever else there was. Since I can’t stay to only one cuisine, I would move to the Asian section for some dim sum. After several plates of steamed dumplings, I would get some pho soup. Then, on the the Italian section for some fresh sage and parmesan gnocchi with lamb chops. Then I would have to hit the desserts- chocolate turtle cheesecake, baklava, tiramisu and a piece of apple pie.
    I am in the US.

  57. Yum! If we can have whatever we want at our own never ending mythical food court, I would start with an awesome cheeseburger, like the mushroom burger at Red Robin. Then I would have to have some Crab Rangoons from my favorite chinese place. Then real chips from the best fish and chips place I’ve ever been to in Ontario. Then for dessert, fried ice cream because it has been forever since I’ve had it. Great Candace, now I’m thinking about food before doing my grocery shopping! LOL! ;)

  58. At our food court there is a place called “boardwalk fries” and they seriously have the best fries. I would gorge on those (though, along with unlimited funds, I would need unlimited calories that burn off)

  59. The food court of my dreams with unlimited budget, ability to eat as much as I want without consequences! Oh my lets start with a hot dog on a stick, then move on to the cheese on a stick, of course with the famous fresh squeezed lemonade to wash them down. Next we move on to the Cinnabon with deep roasted coffee. The large fresh baked pretzels dipped in mustard with some little smokies wrapped in bagel dough on the side. Holy carb-o-rama batman I am not done. The Japanese stir-fry with sushi (California roll of course with big green avocados in it). Last stop is the cookie store for a jumbo sugar cookie with gooey icing on the way to the coffee shop for a Vente Cafe Verona.
I found your site through another blog and signed up today to receive your email / blog. I like the variety you seem to feature and look forward to reading more about what you have to say. Thank you for your efforts.

  60. Oh, where do I start?
Well, I’d probably try to get something Mexican. Mexican food is my favorite, but only if cooked well. Then again, how can you go wrong with chips & salsa? Then I’d probably get some good pizza. And lots of ice water!

Brownies and dirt & worms for dessert. I’d consider this one of my favorite food courts. I’d consider it a restaurant.

    jackie_love35@msn.com

  61. If I had unlimited funds and an unlimited appetite….I would start with nachos with extra cheese and some jalapenos followed by the fried chicken on a stick and egg roll and then an elephant ear, of course. Plus, a huge cup of pepsi. I would also get curly fries. I think I would have to waddle out of the carnival :)

    gjmanningATwildblueDOTnet

  62. If money wasn’t a problem and I would never get full. I would start with some Chinese food. I love Lo Mein, egg rolls, General Tsao’s Chicken, Beef with Broccoli and fried rice after that I would work my way over to the pizza place and have a pepperoni, ham and black olive pizza. I would then have some Mexican food starting with chips and salsa then work my way up to some Fajitas. I would finish my meal with a really big piece of strawberry cheesecake and a nice strong cup of coffee.

    sstrode at scrtc dot com

  63. I’m a sucker for nachos, fried chicken, and chocolate. Not a good combo together but… I’d have to start with some homemade lemonade (I’m in the carnival mood). Moving onto a five inch platter of nachos and an endless choice of sauce, meat, and cheese. I love anything fried and fried chicken is my fav. What better way to make me fat, err, I meant finish things off, than some chocolate dipped in fruit (gotta be healthy). In the never ending stomach, will it keep the weight off, cause I need to drop a few pounds and the food ain’t gonna help.

    Lindadao2060 at yahoo dot com

  64. I immediately start imagining a litany of foods from both the cajun and Italian cultures, my personal favorites! I would certainly have to get a cherry Italian soda, I haven’t had one of those in ages. Then would come an appetizer of fried crawfish and catfish bites, oh man my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Then would come a steaming platter of spicy crawfish etouffee with a side of gumbo just the way my dad makes it. And if that does not satisfy my cravings, I can also get some seafood alfredo filled with shrimp, crawfish, crab, and lobster pieces. For dessert would be a large slice of chocolate lasagna with a side of cinnamon ice cream. Aggh, I don’t think even my pregnant self could handle this much food!

    hopester777 at gmail dot com

  65. I would order every single plate I’ve ever heard about in the whole wide world. First, I would start with sushi and sashimi, being the big fan of this Japanese cuisine. Then, I would move on to Mediterranean food. I’ve heard that it’s the healthiest food, but I’ve yet to try it. And I’m a health fanatic- of sorts. After trying Greek food, I’m moving on to the heavier Italian pastas and pizzas that Mediterranean people don’t eat on a daily basis. I’m a big pasta person!

When I run out of ideas, I will invent new foods. For example, we’ve heard of ambrosia, but just what is it? I will continuously request various combinations of foods until I have found the best food in the world- to me that is. And that will be my ambrosia.

This was a lot of fun :D Thanks for the challenge!

  66. I would start off with cotton candy, moving onto a nice indian fry bread- maybe one with the works! of course I also love the fry bread with powder sugar, but I have something else in mind for dessert. Carnivals are all about the deep frying, so I would go with deep fried ice cream, snickers and twinkie- I am not brave enough for fried butter- end it all with an alka seltzer
    !

  67. Well, firstly I’d order enough food for every hungry person on the planet. We could start off with some stuffed crabs, crumb fried chicken legs. Then we could move on to a mushroom and cheese bake, garlic flavored indian bread (naan), butter chicken. And for desert the richest most deacadent chocolate mousse ever!

Now, either i’m hallucinating, or I can actually smell the chicken!!! *scampers away*

    …*comes back*…

  68. I don’t want to be entered for the giveaway, but I love this post! I hadn’t realized there were so many books with food on the cover. If it were me, I’d totally get fried dough. Jut thinking about it makes me hungry!

  69. Hi! Well, I would start with some marshmallows that I could dip in melted chocolate, then I’d get an ice tea to cool off. After that, I’d move on to more serious things like caramel sundae and cheesecake! NOM-NOM! I would also fatten myself with some cupcakes and doughnuts, maybe some waffers. Then, on to lollipops, people! Fruit candies, muffins, chip cookies, hershey’s kisses, skittles, oreo cookies. I know I’ll have to diet after all this…
Then, I would drink some soft lychee and then I would rest on a bench…

    floriv7(at)gmail(dot)com

  70. Now, since this is a carnival, I’d start with one of those giant turkey legs and fresh lemonade, then on to the buttered, grilled, cooked in the husk corn on the cob-yummy! Deep-fried oreos, funnel cakes, those little donuts fresh fried and drenched in cinnamon sugar, a huge slice of greasy, cheesy pizza, some fresh roasted sugared almonds, pulled pork sandwiches…
Is it time for the fair to come around yet? Yum yum!

  71. If I had unlimited funds and a never ending stomach I would order Pizza. Our mall (we only have 1 mall) has a great food court where there is a pizza place that has the best pizza ever. Every time I go there I somehow always end up ordering pizza. I would love to try out all of their different kinds of pizzas. I would also try out their Calzones I have never tried it, but they do look good.

  72. Wow, that’s a tough question. I’m not sure that I’ve ever actually been to a real food court, except the one at the airport! They have Cinnabon, so I would start off with a big, sticky cinnamon roll with lots of butter & a white mocha. (My stomach is churning even as I type this . . . just wanted you to know that!) From there, I would work my way to the pizza and order two kinds: Canadian bacon and pineapple; and red onions & beef. (Pepto-Bismol, please!) I would dip both in lots of ranch dressing and, of course, they would have to be topped with fresh grated parmesan cheese. From there, I would move on to the Mexican food & then it would really be a gastronomical catastrophe — chicken quesadillas, cheese enchiladas, huevos rancheros, burritos, lots of sour cream and guacamole. BTW, happy Cinco de Mayo! And I would finish off my dietary adventure with a big ol’ chocolate malt.

    Burp.

Good grief . . . I may skip breakfast. I’m full from just thinking about all that food!

  74. I would start out with a Hazelnut coffee to kick start me!! Throughout the day, lots of lemonades to wash down all the corn dogs, chicken legs on a stick, french fries, and one of my favorites-the bloomin’ onions that I will consume. I would have to eat several candy apples and all the chocolate items I could find and try!! Last, but not least, I would have my favorite funnel cake with lots of powdered sugar on it. I would also bring one of them home for a late night snack.

My stomach is growling and hurting at the same time just typing this.

  75. Unlimited funds AND a never ending stomach? You paint a pretty picture. Firstly I would probably jump up and down, because this would just be amazing! This would, of course, draw unwanted attention, though. My cheeks would heat, turning a rosy red, leaving me feeling extremely immature. But hey, I just remembered I have unlimited funds AND a never ending stomach, so…yeah I jump up and down again, I just can’t help myself! This time I would disregard all the “is she bleeping crazy stares” and proceed to the nearby gelato counter-you know, that stuff that makes you feel like your heart is going to stop after taking only three bites. Every flavor would be sampled, and every possible combination combined-toppings galore. If I could still walk after this, and if my heart had been able to endure that amount of sugar, I would then go to Ufood and order a salad-you know, to be healthy. ;)

  76. Oh yum. I’m dreaming up tons of wonderful foods now…but chocolate is taking the stage. I can just imagine a fudge, ice cream sundae with blueberries, cherries and strawberries lining around the rim of the cup with chocolate syrup drizzled all over it. The ice cream is cappuccino flavoured and making my mouth water before the server even hands it over to me. Then I’d ask for some sugar cookies and, you know, sprinkles of course. The cashier would frown at me for handing her a twenty dollar bill for a 10$ ice cream, but I’d be too busy licking away at my delicacy to care for even the change.

  77. It’s going to Junk Food galore! I would grab a Frozen Coke and then hot chips with a Sweet Chilli chicken wrap. Then when I’m done, I’ll grab a fairy floss and just amybe a vanilla malt sundae. For afternoon tea I would get a corn dog and mabe some chicken nuggets if I’m hungry

  78. This is an interesting topic for me as one of my favorite restaurants to get food is in the food court! Master Wok is one
of my favorite chinese food places. I usually get some fried rice, general tso’s chicken, and some honey chicken. We go about once a month or so and have for years. We’ve become friends with the people who own it and they make sure to fill out boxes enough to get two meals out of!

  79. Wow~! Well, first off I’d get a delicious lemonade smoothie, and then maybe start off with something small? I’d order a sandwich, stuffed with my favorite vegetables, and then get a fettucine alfredo! After that, I’d order seafood spaghetti, then a huge slice of New York cheesecake! I’d keep on getting lots and lots of delicious desserts, for I wouldn’t want to waste my unlimited funds! Some of those desserts would be cupcakes, more cheesecake, fat swirly pastries, ice cream, boba, and much more! XD

    Thanks for this creative challenge!

  80. I’d start with a creamy lobster bisque complete with succulent pieces of the crustacean itself. Then a seafood medley of raw scallop, hairy crabs, salmon, and some of the loveliest, freshest sea urchin roe. Yummy! Then some great spaghetti Bolognese. Then a gorgeous slab of Kobe steak tenderloin that melts in my mouth. Washed down with some bubbly followed by the juiciest slices of Japanese rock melon! I’d drool over some HOT fudge chocolate cake with yummy cold vanilla bean ice cream and a nice hot chocolate, a Ghirardelli before devouring them.

Okay I better stop, I am getting hungry thanks to you! *runs*

  81. that’s a fun question to answer^^
I’d pick lots of different stuff like salmon sushi – the real thing, not something that just kinda looks like sushi and lots of good sticky rice and miso-soup.
I’d also go for freshly made (salty) popcorn with real butter, pink cotton candy on a stick, corn and potato pancakes. I’d also love some mild chilli con carne and Tortillas, I could really eat lots of those even without a pitiless stomach XD
    Oh and I mustn’t forget ice-cream, chocolate ice-cream that is, in a cone :D
I’d also love a good, tasty pizza or Dürüm without meat ’cause it’s the salad and the sauce that’s really good, the meat’s just not necessary.

  82. I am a big fan of pizza. It is something that I can hold and admire everything that is going on. The pizza that I would chose is Lobster Pizza. With extra lobster and cheese. After I had my full of the pizza I would head to whoever had the cupcakes. While I don’t like sweets that much there is something about red velvet cake and carrot cake that I cannot resist. The easiest cake to carry around and share is a cupcake. I would get enough for my loved ones to have with me and enjoy the rest of our day.

  83. If I had unlimited funds and an unlimited appetite, I would start with Ice Cream. Then, I would buy Pizza and Cheese Cake. When it’s time to go home, I would buy Cotton Candy.
