Description:
Cameron Winters is a freak. Fortunately, no one but her family knows that Cameron can read minds. When Lewis Douglas arrives, he tempts her with possibilities of freedom. Determined to embrace her hidden talents, Cameron heads to a place where she meets other Mind Readers. But when the Mind Readers realize the extent of Cameron’s abilities, they want to use her powers for their own needs.

My Thoughts:
I loved this book!  I thought it was well wrote with great characters and had an amazing story line.  I love the idea of Mind Readers and even though it's become a more popular theme for YA books I think there's plenty of room for more.  Lori Brighton certainly stood on her own with this one!

Cameron was a great character and even though she didn't always know what the right choices were we didn't either!  When she decided she wanted to learn to use her powers I was cheering her on.  It wasn't until she got to the mansion where she was to train that I felt the doubt in her and it triggered the doubt in me.
Decisions are not always easy things to make and in this case it was nearly impossible to know who was right and who was wrong. But Cameron was amazingly strong and knew what she believed and what she felt in her gut.  She stuck with those feelings even though it wasn't always easy.
Lewis was tender and sweet and so cute!  But the question is, how much of it is real? The whole time he almost seemed too good to be true but I found myself falling for him.  I was cheering them on and keeping my fingers crossed that the romance would work out for them.
This is one of those books that you want to read slowly and savor, but you can't because you have to know, what happens next?  And so your flying through it as fast as your little eyes can go.
The question was always in my mind of wondering who she could really trust and the twists and turns thrown in the path made me question everything, you really don't know where things are going!  And although not a terrible cliffhanger at the end,  it was still a very open so I'm anxious to see where she takes it in the next book.

I know many people aren't so eager to read a self published author, there are some out there that aren't even good writers.  But Lori Brighton is an accomplished writer who has been published by a publishing house in the past.  She is experienced and it shows in her work, you should definitely give her a chance!
