Waiting on Wednesday (2)

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.  It spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.  I’m posting a little early because I have a tour tomorrow.
Once again I have some fantastic books on my radar and can’t wait to share them with you guys!
This week they are both Steampunk!  I love Steampunk books and am super excited to read both of these.  This first one is by a newly discovered (last October) author, MK Hobson.  This is her second book in this series.  The Native Star is the first, and I LOVED it!  The Hidden Goddess is certain to be amazing as well.
The Hidden Goddess by MK Hobson
Mass Market Paperback, 384 pages

Being engaged to a socially-prominent warlock in 19th century New York can be daunting—especially if you’re a witch from a small town in California who’s never sat at a dinner table with more than one fork.
A month has passed since the adventures that brought Emily Edwards from Lost Pine to New York City, but navigating New York magical society is as taxing and treacherous as anything she’s faced so far. Emily’s future mother-in-law is a sociopathic socialite who is not at all pleased with her only son’s choice of a bride. Dreadnought Stanton—Emily’s fiance—has a dark past which has by no means given up all its secrets. And Emily’s own past may hold answers that a shadowy group of Russian scientists will give anything to possess.
Emily will have to brave all these challenges—not to mention an ancient sect of Aztec blood-sorcerers bent on plunging the world into apocalypse—if she and Dreadnought are to have any hope of living happily ever after.

This next book was just put on my radar today and it sounds amazing!  I just requested it from NetGalley, so hopefully I’ll be getting to read it early!  I freaking LOVE that cover!

These are dark days indeed in Victoria’s England. Londoners are vanishing, then reappearing, washing up as corpses on the banks of the river Thames, drained of blood and bone. Yet the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences- the Crown’s clandestine organisation whose baliwick is the strange and unsettling- will not allow its agents to investigate. Fearless and exceedingly lovely Eliza D Braun, however, with her bulletproof corset and a disturbing fondness for dynamite, refuses to let the matter rest..and she’s prepared to drag her timorous new partner, Wellington Books along with her into the perilous fray.

For a malevolent brotherhood is operating in the deepening London shadows, intent upon the enslavement of all Britons. And Books and Braun- he with his encyclopedic brain and she with her remarkable devices- must get to the twisted roots of a most nefarious plot… or see England fall to the Phoenix.
