I would say Blood Promise by Richelle Mead is the most romantic. Rose has to deal with the line of following the one she loves and becoming a strigoi, or staying just a dhampir and leaving Dimitri behind. So raw and heartbreaking. I find myself having a hard time deciding what I would do.

I'm quite unsure on this one... On the one hand I think I'd probably go for Jane Eyre. It's dark, honest and interesting. The romance is timid, but bold and completely compelling whilst being heartbreaking in the middle. For something at the other end of the scale, my first Paranormal Romance type book was J.R. Ward's Dark Lover, which is utterly amazing but in a completely different way. ;) There's a lot of good stuff to choose from out there!

Hmm, this is quite hard because it seems all the books I read is not a straight romance book (I like books with action or adventure in them.)
ReplyDeleteSo i guess the book that I consider as most romantic would be the The City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, where the protagonists in the story (Jace and Clary) thought for some time they were siblings. Though their love was strong, they chose to respect the fact that they were siblings also. It occurs to me that affection can also be portrayed in its highest form as respect, choosing other appropriate ways to express love to the other.
I'm an international participant (Philippines) so please enter me in the $15 Book Depository giveaway.

For modern books, it's a toss-up for me. It would have to be either Twilight or Fallen by Lauren Kate. Edward still makes me swoon, but the fact that Luce and Daniel keep falling in love across centuries is about the most romantic thing ever!
ReplyDeleteFor classics, I think it's Emma by Jane Austen.

I would have to say Firelight. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I picked it up, but it blew me away. I'm semi new to YA and for a while I steered clear because though the covers caught my eye and the titles were cactchy, I didn't think they could give me what I need. I'm a stay at home mom of three and on a stressful day, I needed a story with struggle and some smoking hot bedroom scenes. Jennifer Echols Going Too Far really opened my eyes and after reading Firelight, I felt refreshed. It brought me back to a time in my life where I all but forgot. That innocence you carry around when your a teenager and nothing is more important than falling in love. It was a beautiful story and I loved it. I would love to win the YA, thanks for the chance :)
