It's Monday! What are you Reading? (8)

Please note that this is on autopost as I am on vacation. Therefore if there are links that don't work or type that doesn't show, I apologize and will correct it as soon as I am able.

It's Monday!  What are you reading?  is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at One Persons Journey Through a World of Books.
Here's what she says.

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
I love being a part of this and I hope you do too!  As part of this weekly meme I love to encourage you all to go and visit the others participating in this meme.  I offer a weekly contest for those who visit 10 or more of the Monday Meme participants and leave a comment.  You receive one entry for every 10 comments, just come back here and tell me how many in the comment area.

I'm actually on vacation this moment but I'm writing this ahead of time to help myself keep track as well as to have a post for Monday.  So Happy Memorial Day everyone!  I'm enjoying this beautiful day with my family (at least that's what my plan is when writing this!).  But for what I've read...

I finished up Rampant by Diana Peterfreund (REVIEW)
Rampant
And Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore
Magic Under Glass
I also read Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison
Once Dead, Twice Shy (Madison Avery, Book 1)
The books I'm bringing on vacation are:
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Before I Fall
Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder
Chasing Brooklyn
and Changeless by Gail Carriger
Changeless (The Parasol Protectorate)
on audio for the trip I have
Hank the Cowdog: The Runaway Windmill by John R. Erickson (we LOVE Hank!)
The Runaway Windmill (Hank the Cowdog)
The Cupid Chronicles by Coleen Murtagh Paratore
(in audio and wrong cover, sorry)
The Cupid Chronicles (The Wedding Planner's Daughter #2)
The Spiderwick Chronicles (1-5) by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi
(wrong photo but that's what I could find)
The Spiderwick Chronicles: Books 1-5: Book 1: The Field Guide; Book 2: The Seeing Stone; Book 3: Lucinda's Secret; Book 4: The Ironwood Tree; Book 5: The Wrath of Mulgarath
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
His Dark Materials, Book I: The Golden Compass
I know we probably won't be able to listen to them all (the trip is only 18 hours each way) but we have a variety.  I tried to pick ones my daughter would enjoy as well.  I tried to get Harry Potter but it didn't get to the library in time.
Be sure to check out my giveaways on My Favorite Things Event!

Birthday Wishes, to ME! And a Giveaway! *ended*

My Favorite Things Event is in celebration of my birthday.   I'm going on vacation (tonight!) and wanted to put something up and I have some more goodies to giveaway!  Yay!  So I'm going to talk about my birthday.  Which isn't until June 29, by the way.

For my birthday in the past few years I've used my birthday money from my grandma and sometimes my mom, and I've gone to Powells, the biggest bookstore in the US, and the coolest, for sure! and I've bought books. Sometimes I go to Saturday Market and buy something too.  Like two years ago I bought a cool purse.  This year I'm not sure if I'll be able to buy books yet, but I've been composing a list of books I'm DYING for.  So I'm going to share that list with you guys.  Just for fun.  No one needs to buy me any or anything ;)

My birthday shopping is very organized.  I first compose a list of books I want.  Then I go to Powells.com and I find out which ones they have used and write down the cost of the books and then I sort out which ones I'm willing to pay that much for and I just narrow it down a bit, I suppose.  This year I'll be going to a Jacqueline Carey signing on the 18th so that will likely be my 'birthday' trip to Powells.  Even though it's the Cedar Hills Crossing branch and not the downtown branch that I love so very much.  But I know I'll be buying books then so I figure that's about all I'll be able to afford.  So while there I'll be buying Naamah's Curse in hardback to be signed.  And Naamah's Kiss most likely because the copies I have are for giveaway.   I may pick up a couple of others of hers as well, and I have all my copies of the Kushiel's Legacy books to be signed too.
Naamah's Kiss (Kushiel Legacy)Naamah's Curse

Perchance to Dream: Theatre Illuminata #2
Eyes Like Stars: Theatre Illuminata, Act IOther then her books I have all these others on my wish list.  A few at the top of my list are:
Eyes Like Stars and Perchance to Dream by Lisa Mantchev
I have some serious cover lust for these books!  And they sound wonderful as well, of course!
Then I REALLY want White Cat by Holly Black.  I've heard great things about it and I'm pretty sure it's a series I'll want to collect.
White Cat (Curse Workers, Book 1)
Glimmerglass by Jenna Black also sounds fantastic and is on my wishlist.
Glimmerglass (Faeriewalker, Book 1)
I've also been wanting to put in a preorder for Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare and Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1) Beautiful Darkness
Here's a few others on my WL:
An Echo in the Bone: A Novel (Outlander) by Diana Gabaldon
Would-Be Witch (A Southern Witch Novel) by Kimberly Frost
Barely Bewitched by Kimberly Frost
Thief Eyes by Janni Lee Simner
The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker by Leanna Renee Hieber
and The Darkly Luminous Fight for Persephone Parker by Leanna Renee Hieber
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld (the paperback copy coming out in the fall has a great cover!)
Boneshaker (Sci Fi Essential Books) by Cherie Priest
The Boneshaker by Kate Milford
Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane) by Jaye Wells

Those are just a few things I'm wishing for for my birthday.  So now we're on to giveaway time!  I found this awesome etsy seller that had some cute faerie bookmarks and stuff.  I ordered a few things and then she sent me some extra stuff for me to giveaway!  So the shop is called Flying Unicorn and her stuff is really unique and cute.  She makes tags, like super fancy gift tags, bookmarks, scrapbook embellishments, customized mini albums,  cute cards and other great stuff.  She has fantastic prices and her customer service was perfect!  When she heard I was going to giveaway some of the bookmarks I ordered she sent an awesome tag.  You can use it as a unique gift tag, or you could even put it in a frame and hang it up!  I'm also going to giveaway a journal I bought for giveaway.  Perfect for keeping book lists or keeping notes if your writer.*Giveaway Ended*
