Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy. And not the type to frolic in gardens. She’s a Regulator—a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world.
I was a little surprised she was fairy because she seemed very human to me. But as I read I discovered why. However she did have magic and it was with fairy dust! I loved that!
He’s also stubborn, and headstrong, but very kick ass!
The mystery in the story wasn’t predictable. It was interesting watching the twists and turns and see where things went. I couldn’t say that Dulcie was completely unpredictable, she was a headstrong character, so it’s usually pretty easy to see where their decisions will take them. But that definitely wasn’t a negative to the story.
Things are definitely left open for future books and I really can’t wait to see where things go. I just hope they go somewhere and we aren’t strung along book after book, that’s a huge downside to other books in this genre I’ve read and it infuriates me enough to stop the series.
I give this book 4/5 moons.
After much debating, I reached the conclusion that I couldn’t change my writing—for better or worse. Then I heard about self publishing on Amazon and thought, what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. Well, that was less than three months ago and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve really been surprised and elated by the response to my books and how quickly they’ve taken off. Currently, they are available as e-books but I’m working on releasing the printed versions as well.
I’m also glad she stuck with what she believed in and didn’t change her style. I LOVE funny fantasy and can really handle only so much dark fantasy.
A self-deprecating witch with the unique ability to reanimate the dead. A dangerously handsome warlock torn between being her boss and her would-be lover. A six hundred year old English vampire with his own agenda; one that includes an appetite for witches. The Underworld in a state of chaos. Let the games begin.
Life isn’t bad for psychic Jolie Wilkins. True, she doesn’t have a love life to speak of, but she has a cute house in the suburbs of Los Angeles, a cat and a quirky best friend.
Enter Rand Balfour, a sinfully attractive warlock who insists she’s a witch and who just might turn her life upside down. Rand hires her to help him solve a mystery regarding the death of his client who also happens to be a ghost. Jolie not only uncovers the cause of the ghost’s demise but, in the process, she brings him back to life!
Word of Jolie’s incredible ability to bring back the dead spreads like wildfire, putting her at the top of the Underworld’s most wanted list. Consequently, she finds herself at the center of a custody battle between a villainous witch, a dangerous but oh-so-sexy vampire, and her warlock boss, Rand.
There will be two winners. First person drawn gets first choice.
