What is your favorite brick and mortar bookstore?
Well, that one's easy! Powells in downtown Portland, Oregon. It's only about 20 minutes from my house and it's the biggest bookstore in the US (I think). It's HUGE and it smells so wonderful. It has new and used books and they are housed together. And it has the super high shelves, though they only put extra stock on the out of reach shelves. The smaller Powells in Cedar Hills, which is about 40 minutes from my house, is where most of the booksigning's around here are at so I love that one as well.

I'm also doing the Blog Hop hosted by Jenn at Crazy-For-Books. Each week Jenn also picks a question to be asked, and answered (it's always nice to have more to say in the comments!) and this week she asks:

And the answer is yes. I'll buy a book just for the cover. But sometimes I'll read a book even if it has a bad cover, but generally only after I've heard some good reviews.

I hated that saying growing up, but now I realize I do judge books by their covers. I can tell which ones might be more "smuttier" and which ones aren't. I've bought quite a few books based soley on the cover. Of course the back of the cover description does tend to help in my buying it too.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to buy a book because I loved the cover, but I am more likely to take a peek at the book whose cover I liked.

I have to admit that I do judge books by their cover, also. I won't usually even bother picking a book up if I'm no into the cover. However, even books with covers I love need to have at least a somewhat interesting summary for me to read.
