In My Mailbox is a weekly event that was inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie and is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
This was a great week for me! I got two books from the library.
Heist Society by Ally Carter (read, enjoyed and review below)
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins
And books I bought:
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (been wanting this one BAD!)
Avalon Revisited by O.M. Grey (read and LOVED, review to come Monday)
And I also bought
Night Shift by Lilith Saintcrow
Magic in the Blood and Magic to the Bone by Devon Monk
Was planning to go to a signing of both of these authors this month but not sure I'll make it :(
I have a few books though if I do!
I also preordered a Kobo ( I keep saying Kabob in my head!). I'm so excited because I need an ereader for my e-galleys. I don't plan on buying books for it as I LOVE my books, but I have loads of e-books (ARC's mostly) I just never get read because I hate to read them on my computer.

Nice. I got Hex Hall a few days ago. (Pictures on my blog) I can't wait to read it. It looks really funny :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you get hold of ARCs? Any ideas of where I can get hold of some ;)
NetGalley is where I can get many ARC's but they are generally e-ARC's so I don't request many (until I get a reader anyway). Otherwise authors, publishers and book tours email me. There are many other places to get them as well but I have more books then I can read so I haven't even bothered.

Before I fall is a good book. I've got Hex Hall on order, and I'm yet to read Lilith Saintcrow's Night Shift and Devon Monk's series. They are awesome authors though.

Hex Hall and Before I Fall look good. Congrats on the Kobo. I'm thinking about buying a sony pocket ereader. I have so many books they are overtaking my home.

ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked Heist Society. I thought it was a fun book. I loved Before I Fall and liked Hex Hall. Avalon Revisited looks really good. I will have to look it up on Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your new books! I don't have an e-reader but I read my e-books on my computer (ARCs from NetGalley) or on my iPhone (Kindle e-books) which isn't as fun. It takes me longer to read an e-book so I may eventually buy one. I will probably get a Kindle since I've bought a few Kindle e-books and I don't think they'd be compatible with other e-readers. I hope you enjoy the Kobo.
