But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he’s good with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough- talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost.  Her first spin off from the Night Huntress series.
Description:

The night is not safe for mortals. Denise MacGregor knows all too well what lurks in the shadows—her best friend is half-vampire Cat Crawfield—and she has already lost more than the average human could bear. But her family’s past is wrapped in secrets and shrouded in darkness—and a demon shapeshifter has marked Denise as prey. Now her survival depends on an immortal who lusts for a taste of her.

He is Spade, a powerful, mysterious vampire who has walked the earth for centuries and is now duty-bound to protect this endangered, alluring human—even if it means destroying his own kind. Denise may arouse his deepest hungers, but Spade knows he must fight his urge to have her as they face the nightmare together . . .

Because once the first crimson drop falls, they will both be lost.

This is the third book in the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost
Description:

Some things won’t stay buried . . . at grave’s end

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.
As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.
OR
and this one is an ARC though is in regular cover and everything.

Any Given Doomsday by Lori Handeland.  This is the first book in the Phoenix Chronicles.
Description:
Handeland (Thunder Moon) launches the intriguing Phoenix Chronicles urban fantasy series with a strong story that’s only missing one thing: a glossary of the multitude of paranormal creatures tied to biblical lore. Psychic ex-cop Elizabeth Phoenix reluctantly takes the case after her foster mother, Ruthie, is murdered by monsters. Soon she’s pointing out demons to her ex-boyfriend Jimmy, a half-vampire battling an army of Nephilim who plan to enslave and destroy humanity. They fight their way from Wisconsin to the southwest, where Jimmy leaves Elizabeth with Sawyer, a powerful Navajo shape-changer who awakens her libido as well as her psychic powers. Elizabeth’s wry demeanor and complex relationships with Sawyer and Jimmy share center stage with the dramatic story line. The biblical component, while often confusing, adds dramatic dimension, and the demons’ evil plans and vividly described handiwork create immense suspense for the final battle.

  1. 1. I have read the first few books in her BDB series and have enjoyed them so far. Haven’t read Covet yet though.
(congrats on running your first contest!)

  2. I have read all of the BDB series, and I am addicted! Can’t wait until the next in the series comes out. I’m also looking forward to checking out the new Fallen Angels series.

  3. 1. Have you read JR Ward? I have read part of the BDB series… not one of my favs but ok… However I LOVED First Drop of Crimson!!!

Love your blog background… very pretty =)

  4. Hell Cat- I have read most of the BDB books and I like them. I love the world created and think she has a good story line going. What I don’t like is the whole cat and mouse thing where the guy and girl break up over and over again and in this case none of the guys seem to think they are worthy of the girls. But overall I think the series is pretty good. Covet is in the same world and you see hints of characters from BDB but it’s a completely different story line. I thought it was as good if not better then BDB.
Kelsey- no problem! I have a tendency to do that too, it’s hard to remember all that you read also! Last night I had that problem and kept entering a contest wrong. That was mostly because of distractions by kids though.

  5. Woo hoo! I love winning things! I’ll take Covet by JR Ward. I have read all of her BDB books and love them! I’m sure Covet will not disappoint. Do you have my contact info?

    Jessica
